Gungahlin
Canberra's fastest-growing town centre

Photo: Pexels
Gungahlin has gone from outer suburb to fully fledged town centre in less than two decades. The Marketplace covers the everyday shopping, while Hibberson Street has filled out with restaurants spanning Indian, Nepalese, Korean BBQ, Filipino, Lebanese and modern Australian. The light rail terminates here, which has changed the after-work crowd, and the surrounding suburbs of Harrison, Franklin and Amaroo bring families through every weekend. The lake, the leisure centre and a growing list of parks and playgrounds keep kids busy, and the new builds mean almost every venue has decent parking and step-free access.
