Lakeside town centre with major shopping and uni nightlife

Belconnen is the northern town centre built around Lake Ginninderra, with a big Westfield, a thriving fresh food market and an arts centre that punches above its weight. The University of Canberra sits just up the road, which keeps the bars and late-night food busy through semester, and the lake foreshore is a favourite for evening walks and weekend rowing. Surrounding suburbs from Bruce to Hawker bring the weekday lunch crowd, while the Belconnen Markets are one of the few places in Canberra you can still buy a whole fish and a kilo of strawberries without leaving the building.
