The Treasurer's mid-year update, handed down on Tuesday afternoon, accelerates $312 million of social housing spending into the next two years.
Roughly 600 dwellings are funded, with the biggest single allocation going to a Molonglo Valley build-to-rent pilot and a Gungahlin redevelopment of three ageing walk-up blocks.
The Greens welcomed the announcement but pushed for a faster timetable on the 1,000-home Common Ground style supportive housing target.
Industry groups noted the ACT's construction pipeline is already tight, and asked whether the procurement could be staged to avoid bidding up local trades.
